Welcome to the August edition of our monthly newsletter. We have lots of inspiring ideas in store this month and there are many interesting events and offers.


Auckland this Autumn

AIR NEW ZEALAND FASHION WEEK

If you are a fashion lover or fashion victim, you may want head down to Auckland this October to see a showcase of the best of New Zealand fashion. The event takes place from 18th-21st October and involves a series of catwalk shows and a trade exhibition.

Both new and established New Zealand designers will showcase their latest collections in the fourth annual event. This year will see two 'Best of Show' parades featuring the highlights of the collections open for the public. The event takes place in a new venue at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour and visitors will also be able to access 'Runway', an expo featuring the best of New Zealand design, held from 22nd-25th October at the same venue. ADIDAS MARATHON
The spectacular 2004 Adidas Auckland Marathon, Half Marathon and 10km takes place on Sunday 31st October. The marathon is truly an international event, with over 70 entries from 13 different countries received so far.

As well as the marathon itself, an exciting new addition is the post-event “Party in the Park”, featuring New Zealand’s leading rock and pop bands playing live at Victoria Park on the afternoon of 31st October, after the marathon prize giving. This is an ideal way to unwind after the event and all participants and spectators are invited.

If you fancy participating, the Marathon and Half Marathon start at 6.30am in Devonport, cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge and finishes at Victoria Park. The 10km starts and finishes at Victoria Park, and runs along the Auckland Waterfront. For more detailed information on this event, visit www.aucklandmarathon.co.nz

New Zealand’s largest city is definitely well worth a visit this autumn, with it’s bustling shopping district, chic waterfront bars and restaurants you’ll have plenty to see and do. Unique attractions include Auckland Museum and Underwater World as well as Auckland’s Sky Tower where you can see an inspiring view of the city.

For those with limited time, Auckland is great for a short stay and the major sites of the Bay of Islands and Rotorua can be visited in a day trip from the city. Quebec Winter Carnival
Liven up your winter and join us as we celebrate Quebec’s 51st Winter Carnival, held from January 28th to February 13th 2005. We guarantee you will have a flurry of winter fun so bring along your friends and family and visit the biggest winter carnival in the world!

For 2005, the 51st edition of the Winter Carnival will take place with fire and flames, a main element throughout and there will also be other traditional events, which remain an integral part of the Carnival programme such as the Canoe Race, the Dogsled Race and the International Snow Sculpture Event.
