Both new and established New Zealand designers will showcase their latest collections in the fourth annual event. This year will see two 'Best of Show' parades featuring the highlights of the collections open for the public. The event takes place in a new venue at Auckland's Viaduct Harbour and visitors will also be able to access 'Runway', an expo featuring the best of New Zealand design, held from 22nd-25th October at the same venue. For more detailed information on the event you can visit www.nzfashionweek.com. ADIDAS MARATHON As well as the marathon itself, an exciting new addition is the post-event “Party in the Park”, featuring New Zealand’s leading rock and pop bands playing live at Victoria Park on the afternoon of 31st October, after the marathon prize giving. This is an ideal way to unwind after the event and all participants and spectators are invited. If you fancy participating, the Marathon and Half Marathon start at 6.30am in Devonport, cross the Auckland Harbour Bridge and finishes at Victoria Park. The 10km starts and finishes at Victoria Park, and runs along the Auckland Waterfront. For more detailed information on this event, visit www.aucklandmarathon.co.nz New Zealand’s largest city is definitely well worth a visit this autumn, with it’s bustling shopping district, chic waterfront bars and restaurants you’ll have plenty to see and do. Unique attractions include Auckland Museum and Underwater World as well as Auckland’s Sky Tower where you can see an inspiring view of the city. For those with limited time, Auckland is great for a short stay and the major sites of the Bay of Islands and Rotorua can be visited in a day trip from the city. Discover New Zealand offers a range of accommodation as well as a variety of excursions.
