West Coast Wilderness in NZ
From National parks, gold rush towns, caves and mountains to diverse insects, wildlife, rainforests and lagoons, there’s so much to explore with our superb West Coast Wilderness hiking tour. The 10-day trip provides opportunities to see a variety of unusual birds, as well as seals and possibly dolphins, so if you want the weird, wonderful and wild all in one, then this hiking tour is just the thing.

Designed by hiking and natural history specialists, Hiking New Zealand, this exploratory trip offers an in-depth experience of the wild West Coast of the South Island and is aimed at fit walkers and includes some days of backpacking, but you don’t need to have had previous wilderness experience. The itinerary offers a great balance of experiences, the peaks and limestone of Kahurangi, the luxuriant rainforests of Paparoa, snow-capped mountains and hot springs of the Copland Valley and a stunning surf-pounded coastline.

Prices start from £389 per person (guidance only, correct exchange rates will be used at the time of booking) and include hut accommodation and camping equipment (except sleeping bag), transport by minibus, activities unless indicated as optional and guide services. Departures are on 6th July, 3rd and 31st August 2004.
