Absolute Sweden this summer…
Our Sweden summer brochure is jam-packed full of tempting ideas from fly drives and short breaks to activity and wildlife tours. So what's sizzling this summer... here are just a few ideas from our Absolute Sweden programme to inspire you!

First class cuisine…
Swedish cuisine has experienced unparalleled success and Sweden now ranks among the most creative and progressive countries in the world in terms of culinary expertise. If you fancy a creative and culinary treat this summer, our West Sweden Gourmet package is certain to get anyone's taste buds going.

This fly drive is based around the Vastsvensk Maersmark concept and combines the cultural and scenic sights with the best food and accommodation the region has to offer. Selected for this trip are three beautiful manor houses, often referred to as castles and indeed should be being that each is set within it's own landscaped gardens and guarantees a lavish and indulgent experience.

Prices are from £639 for 3-nights based on two sharing with daily departures until August.

I Love Liseberg…
Scandinavia’s largest and most picturesque amusement park, Liseberg, in Gothenburg has recently opened for the summer so now is the time to take your family somewhere different and still keep the little ones happy.

Liseberg is more than just an amusement park. Located right in the centre of the city, it has 30 attractions, beautiful gardens, several cafes, restaurants, boutiques and theatres where, over the years, stars like Brigit Nilsson, ABBA, Marlene Dietrich, Sammy Davis Jr. and Jimmy Hendrix have performed! It even has a wooden rollercoaster, Balder, which is the biggest wooden rollercoaster in Scandinavia! This 80-year old park attracts more than just millions of thrill-seekers and has everything for a great family fun adventure.

Prices for a 3-night city break to Gothenburg are from £328 per person.

Lapland, not just for Christmas...
One of the great wildernesses of Europe, Lapland has more than just snow. The vast region has lakes, forests, high mountains and miles of unspoilt coastline. With eight national parks and 170 nature reserves, there is a huge range of outdoor activities to experience.

Floating down river…
A highly unusual holiday with a touch of DIY! Imagine floating down river on your own timber log raft built from scratch! No nails or glue involved here though, but lots of rope and instructors to help of course!

Varmland is Sweden’s most southerly wilderness area and the location for this adventure is the river Klaralven, where you’ll get to spend a week floating peacefully amongst rolling hills and beautiful forests. You can also tow a canoe to use at your leisure, observe the wildlife along the river banks, swim, fish and even explore on land the medieval churches and quaint villages. Nature and adventure at its best, this holiday is a perfect family treat and prices start from £737 per person, child prices from £360 (3-5yrs) and £468 (6-14yrs) for 6-nights with departures until 31 August.

Sweden’s Big Six…
You can forget Africa’s big five, try tracking Sweden’s big six instead, for a safari with a difference – Swedish style! Our Exploring Dalarna trip lets you experience the highlights of Sweden’s heartland, known for its long held traditions of Swedish folklore and wildlife viewing possibilities. Elusive but fascinating, the big six include the brown bear, lynx, wolf, wolverine, beaver and musk ox, which all inhabit the dense forests. Other wildlife to look out for are reindeer, elk and the range of rare bird species which flock to the region.

The fly drive is based around Lake Siljan, where most of the highlights of Dalarna can be found including Dala Horse Factory, Gronklitt Bear Park and even an open-air concert venue in a disused lime quarry!

Prices for this trip are from £689 per person based on two sharing with departures until September. For more information on any of our Sweden holidays contact 01737 214 255 or visit www.absolute-sweden.co.uk.
