Travel by sturdy icebreaker and helicopter past giant tabular icebergs to witness the awe-inspiring sight of Emperor penguins interacting with each other, under the atmospheric light of an austral spring at Snowhill Island. Emperor penguins travel long distances across the ice to find open water to feed, and with the capabilities of the icebreaker hopefully see them in their rookeries as well as on the ice edge in their battle for survival. Great care will be taken not to jeopardize the integrity of these beautiful birds - there are well-established guidelines when moving around fragile wildlife areas such as these.
The Emperor Penguin Safari itinerary starts 8th October 2006, however early booking is recommended as the other two departures offered for end of 2006 are currently fully booked! . Prices for the 14-day voyage start from £4773 per person based on a triple share cabin with bathroom (twin and single occupancy cabins also available).
