"Tri-pawed", Riding Mountain Ranch's three-legged bear, comes to the viewing blind almost every evening and she brings her two black, one red and one blond cub with her. You can see from our pictures just how close you can get to viewing these wonderful mammals!

The Ranch Record also took place recently and there were 14 bears at the blind in one evening session including Tri-pawed and her babies, a large red bear and Loverboy - an amorous bear that weighs at least 700lbs! The rest were all several black male bears.

Our amazing Belugas and Bears holiday combines the friendly and inquisitive belugas of Churchill with rewarding bear encounters in the wilds of Riding Mountain National Park, possibly the best place on the continent for seeing these animals in their environment. Not only are black bears the largest in the world, they are also truly wild.

Prices for the Belugas & Bears trip starts from £2480 per person based on twin share with departures in August 2005. Price includes return flights between Heathrow and Winnipeg (via Toronto) and Churchill (one way by train, one way by plane), 11 nights accommodation as stated, breakfasts in Winnipeg only and full board in Riding Mountain, transfers and excursions as stated, local guide services and UK airport taxes.

This tour finishes in August but we are able to arrange a 4 or 7-night package (including 1 night in Winnipeg) to the Ranch for black bear watching tours. These go every Saturday and Tuesday for the 4-night package and every Saturday for the 7-night package up until middle of October (tours on request basis).

Please contact our office on 01737 218 802 for further details of prices and availability or visit the website www.wildlife-encounters.co.uk/tour13/.
