The small settlement at Narsarsuaq offers an ideal base to explore a surrounding area where history and nature combine. Hike through the beautiful Flower Valley, visit the Viking ruins where Eric the Red settled or cruise on an ice fjord. You can also visit Alluitsup Paa, a fishing village where a traditional lifestyle is still observed, and whales can often be seen from the shore from mid July. You’ll also visit Qaqortoq, the largest and one of the most attractive towns in Greenland and Narsaq, a provincial town that has many walking trails to the Viking ruins at Dyrnaes. Travelling between the towns by the local coastal steamer means you’ll also have the opportunity to explore at your own pace through a range of optional excursions including hiking, cruising and even a helicopter ride to the icecap.

Prices for this 9-night holiday start from £1781 per person based on two sharing and includes return flights between UK and Keflavik and Reykjavik and Narsarsuaq, 7 nights accommodation in Greenland on a half board basis and 2 nights in Reykjavik on a B&B basis (one at either end of the holiday), services of guide in Greenland, airport transfers in Greenland and between Keflavik Airport and Reykjavik and airport taxes.
